Mobile Tidbits

A couple of new and interesting bits in the news ...

Mobile Roadie published for and on behalf of client Wynn LasVegas.  While visually very attractive, the app only begins to scratch the surface of what you can do with a mobile to build individual brand recognition and provide on/off property services.  A good start, and the metrics received from click-through on the phone links will almost certainly help them chart a course moving forward (one assumes someone is paying attention over there).

Coke (Canada) is upping its investment in mobile with a new loyalty initiative "Twist TXT Save".  A deal between Coke and Rogers lets users save on their phone bills by redeeming coupon codes from beneath Coke caps.  This is intriguing on many levels, not the least of which are that it relies on SMS rather than "smart" phone technology and that the credit is applied directly to the bill (sample bill with credit applied here).

Those that know me (and have had the unfortunate privilege to hear me rant about such things) know why these two articles appearing in the same week is serendipitous.
